This vintage atlas from 1942 was an absolute bargain at just £2! It's funny looking at all the old countries and seeing how much has changed. It's pretty tatty and some pages are falling out, which means that I don't feel quite so bad about cutting it up. Watch out for some new notebooks soon, giving this old tired atlas a new life and chance to be loved again!

DeleteI have an old atlas that was falling to bits so used some pages for crafts. That is a fab find and I bet your note books will look fab.
ReplyDeleteThey're too nice to throw away aren't they, but they make wonderful craft papers!
Deletethere is something so visually appealing about maps isn't there... your notebooks will be gorgeous and a great way to give something old a new lease of life too! x

ReplyDeleteI already make notebooks from old British road atlases, so I think I'll do something similar. But will be nice to have countries as a change.

ReplyDeleteThanks. I'll be sure to post about them when I've made a few.
DeleteI will be interested to see what you make with your mapbook. I have a pile of old car maps in my craft room, which I keep mean to do something with. They are not vintage like yours, but I had the notion it would be fun to cover a coffee table.
ReplyDeleteCovering a coffee table is a great idea. It would be a lovely way to display the maps.
DeleteWell done, a really great find. Looking forward to seeing what you make with it. Hope you have a good week.
